This German band operates in the black/thrash subgenre like many bands in that country do. Their debut record 'To The Seven' is about the fall of a fictive society according to the biography. Black metal combined with Slayer-like rifffs and patterns spiced with some slow atmospherical passages is a good description of their music. And in a way, it's all what you can say about it but I'll try to elaborate some more. The thrashy black metal is adequate but average, I can imagine this is great when played live on stage but an album is a whole different ball-game. The music isn't bad but after a while it gets tedious and boring. It all sounds the same in the end. Okay what does this add up to? Well, there is a certain amount of potential in Apokrypha and if they work hard on their songs, I expect their next cd to be much better.
